- Interpret and apply the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA) and other relevant legal requirements.
- Apply core principles of occupational safety and health management systems (OSH-MS).
- Plan and implement effective OSH programs.
- Identify, assess, and control workplace hazards and risks (HIRARC).
- Develop and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct incident investigations, safety audits, and workplace inspections.
- Promote safety awareness and effective communication among employees and stakeholders.
- Qualify to be a registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) upon passing the required NIOSH exam and registration with DOSH.

Entry Requirement
- Possess a minimum of SPM/SPMV/MCE or equivalent with at least a Grade Three Pass. A general certificate (SAP) or lower than Grade three will not be accepted
- For SPM/SPMV after the year 2000, a minimum of 6C for Bahasa Melayu, English, and Mathematics AND a minimum 8E for Science/Physics/Chemistry/Biology AND Pass other 1 subject in 1 certificate/examination or combination; or
- Possessed STPM (Science Stream)
- Possessed Diploma/Degree endorsed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
- Applicants must attach ONE (1) certified true copy of SPM/SPMV/MCE Certificate/STPM/ Diploma/Degree AND Identification Card/Passport
